1. Wake up with the sun

2. Stay hydrated
When our bodies are dehydrated our blood gets thicker. When our blood is thicker it’s slower at transporting energy around the body. Rehydrate for more energy.

3. Protein intake
Our bodies need around 6-8 servings of protein per day. Keeping a high protein intake keeps muscle and brain fueled and our hunger levels stable.

4. Minimal caffeine
There’s nothing more satisfying than that first sip of coffee in the morning. But we can have too much of a good thing. Using caffeine to stay awake is a trap caused by poor sleep. Too much caffeine compromises sleep and gets us caught in a vicious cycle. Keep it to 1-2 coffees a day and never after midday.

5. Minimal alcohol
We all know the downsides of a hangover. But what we don’t often acknowledge is the cumulative total of just 1-2 drinks a night. Research is clear at this point, any amount of alcohol drops our bodies energy levels. Keep alcohol to less than 5 drinks a week and in as few nights as possible.
