Never Skip The Gym Again With These Tips

As we age, fitness can become more of a chore and less fun than it used to be. This is often due to a combination of factors such as decreased energy, joint pain, and a lack of motivation. However, with the right approach, exercise can still be enjoyable and beneficial particularly for business executives who lead very busy lives and need to stay productive.

Physical activity is essential for health and wellbeing throughout life, and this is especially true for business leaders. Why? If you are a business executive with big aspirations yet can’t find (or) prioritise the time to invest in being the best version of yourself, then how do you expect to lead your team successfully and to the fullest?

Exercise helps to maintain strength, flexibility, coordination, cognition and balance as we age. It can also help to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve sleep, and boost mood. Unfortunately, as we get older, it can become harder to stay active. Joints may start to ache, energy levels drop, and motivation can wane for many reasons. This can make exercise seem like a chore rather than something to look forward to.

The key to making fitness fun again is to find something that you enjoy. Rather than sticking to the same routine, try something new or different. The personal trainers at Lockeroom preach to our members that in order to get results you must be consistent. The only way to remain consistent for the long hall is to enjoy the process. This is fundamentally why at Locker Room we offer a variety of fitness services that are delivered through our coaches which are specialised in niche fields of fitness. From weightlifting, to running, to boxing and rehabilitation programs we have it all covered. Our members claim that they are more physically active and consistent in the gym then when they were in high school and mid twenties! Over 20% of our members in the past year have signed up to events they never thought they would again, including half marathons, marathons, corporate charity boxing fights and much more!

Lastly, It’s also important to focus on exercise that’s manageable and sustainable. Choose activities that are within your fitness level and don’t be afraid to take it slow. Many activities can be done in shorter bursts, so there’s no need to overdo it. Potentially consider exercising with a friend or joining a class. Having someone else to hold you accountable and keep you motivated can make exercise much more enjoyable. Often within the first few months of a new member joining Lockeroom they will refer a friend because they are enjoying the versatility in training and feel a desire to share the experience with a friend.

In summary, fitness can become a chore as we age. This can be addressed by focusing on activities that are enjoyable and manageable. With the right approach, exercise can still be an enjoyable part of everyday life.
