7 Ways To Navigate Boozy Client Lunches & Lose Weight
It’s 3pm on a Thursday and the office is getting restless after a successful day closing a massive deal.
Slowly, and then all at once the staff leave their desks to begin a late lunch at the local Merivale establishment.
You hesitate because you know how much drinking will be required…
You really want to be healthy and cut back this year.
But you have to go…
Here’s how you can participate and stay on track with your weight loss/health goals.
Start hydrating
Most corporate warriors are dehydrated. If you’re not drinking 2L+ per day of electrolyte infused water it’s almost guaranteed. The first few beers go down so quickly because you're thirsty. Watch how slow they go when you’re not.
2. Drink expensive clear spirits
Gin, Vodka and tequila in the lux variety will limit your calories and hangover.
3. Sip slowly
If you go at half the pace of everyone else you’ll drink half the amount. Note the pace, as most finish, you should be half-way.
4. Go non-alcoholic.
This one is a little more socially difficult but I say do it anyway and let the haters hate.
5. Have a cut off time
In a big drinking session at a certain point people stop keeping count. Give yourself a cut off time which after that you stop or go home.
6. Walk it off before bed
Some of the most damaging effects of alcohol happen when we’re sleeping, try to walk off the booze before you hit the hay.
7. Take activated charcoal tablets
These bad boys are great for soaking up excess alcohol in your system. I like 1 before you drink and 2 after the drinking session.
If you live by these 7 tips you’ll easily land around 10-20% of the usual downsides of alcohol.
A big win.
Wake up fresh the next day, be productive and hit the gym.
