Founder and CEO Zane is now in the best shape of his life.
Before joining, Zane was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was at a low point with his health. Every day was exhausting and his personal health couldnโt keep up with his professional ambitions to grow his company.
His diagnosis was a serious wake-up call and knew that although fitness felt like a chore, he wanted to change and make it a real part of his life.
After bouncing between a few personal trainers, nothing clickedโฆ โthe experience lacked a sense of community and accountability, leaving me feeling disconnected and unmotivated.โ
He wasnโt getting anywhere until he came across Lockeroom. Now, Zane trains multiple times a week and sees Lockeroom as a โsecond homeโ.
โLockeroom has nailed it. Theyโve made it easy, sociable, and, most importantly, fun. Iโm not just turning up; Iโm all in.โ
In Zaneโs words
Before Lockeroom, what were the challenges you were facing?
Before discovering Lockeroom, my relationship with physical activity was fraught with reluctance and anxiety. The mere thought of heading to the gym filled me with dread, making each session feel like an insurmountable chore. Despite having a personal trainer, the experience lacked a sense of community and accountability, leaving me feeling disconnected and unmotivated.
How did you know you needed to make a change?
I knew I needed to lose weight and integrate fitness into my life as a seamless component of my daily routine. I just wanted to be finally consistent and actually be who I knew I could become. I aspired to reach a point where fitness was not just an activity, but an intrinsic part of my identity.
How has Lockeroom helped you overcome those challenges?
Lockeroom has been transformative, blending the personal attention of a dedicated personal trainer with the enriching experience of being part of a supportive community. This unique combination has been pivotal in embedding health and fitness into my identity.
The sense of accountability, and inspiration from this community has dramatically reshaped my approach to fitness, making it a fulfilling part of my life.
What are you most proud of achieving since joining?
The journey has instilled a profound mindset shift, transitioning my focus from fleeting goals to embracing fitness as a long-term commitment. I have a healthier relationship with my body now. Iโve achieved my lowest weight in years, built muscle in areas I didnโt think possible, and vastly improved my overall energy and strength.
It has helped my personal life, enabling me to actively engage in family activities such as playing tag with my nieces and nephews and explore new hobbies like rollerskating, which previously seemed unattainable.
Whatโs your favourite thing about Lockeroom?
The personalised care and adaptability of the training staff, and the irreplaceable community that has become a second family. This community has not only supported my fitness journey but also expanded my social circle in meaningful ways.
It can be lonely at the top and working out with others in the same position or seniority, our walls come down and we connect. The seamless integration of technology enhances this experience too!
Thereโs this great energy and community that makes me want to show up and give it my all. Itโs that group spirit that finally made things click for me. This holistic approach makes Lockeroom not just a gym, but a cornerstone of my lifestyle.
โLockeroom was a game-changer. Itโs not just the personal training; itโs the vibe, the people.โ
