LAUREN REACHED A CROSSROAD WITH HER HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Lauren arrived at Lockeroom with an ultimatum in mind. By 2021, her overall well-being suffered due to lack of exercise and poor eating habits. Compounded by COVID restrictions, she found herself in a negative headspace. “I called it my mid-life crisis and realised I needed to make a big change”

She wasn’t enjoying work anymore and the stress of a young family was piling on top of her.

She had previously been going to the gym on her own, but didn’t follow a program, and recalls not "pushing myself as hard as I could have.”

Lauren knew she needed a new environment to motivate her.

Now Lauren has “endless energy to put towards life and work.” She has transformed her life and visits Lockeroom almost everyday.

BEFORE LOCKEROOM, WHAT WERE THE CHALLENGES YOU WERE FACING?

“I have always had a trainer, but only saw them once a week. Because it wasn’t consistent, it took a long time to hit my goals, and work often got in the way of me seeing them more often. When I went to the gym on my own, I didn’t follow a program, and didn’t push myself as hard as I could have. I was always pretty fit, but there was definitely room for improvement.”

HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU NEEDED TO MAKE A CHANGE?

“As a person who loves work and is always really positive and upbeat, by 2021 I found myself in a negative headspace and was not really enjoying work anymore. Compounding that with Covid-restrictions where we didn’t have as many social gatherings, my overall well being was being affected. I called it my mid-life crisis and realised I needed to make a big change. I’ve always felt better when I exercise more, so I thought Lockeroom would do the trick.”

HOW HAS LOCKEROOM HELPED YOU OVERCOME THOSE CHALLENGES?

“There are a few key aspects to the Lockeroom model that made it work for me. First, I could come in 5 days/week and see a trainer which I knew would make me work harder and more consistently. I quickly saw both my fitness and headspace improve. Second, the atmosphere was fantastic. As a Lockeroom Founding Member, we had a really tight group of members who worked out together every day, and I quickly found my tribe and grew strong friendships. And finally, working out with other business owners and entrepreneurs is very inspiring! I quickly got my mojo back and began to enjoy my work again.”

HOW HAS YOUR LIFE AND BODY CHANGED SINCE JOINING?

“I find that my body reacts best to exercise when I change up my workouts regularly. Lockeroom offers so many options for each session, whether weights, boxing, cardio or gymnastics, which means I am always at my best, both physically and mentally. Since joining Lockeroom, I’ve been stronger, fitter and more mentally focused than I ever was before. I have endless energy to put towards life and work.”

What are you most proud of achieving since joining Lockeroom?

“One of the great things about Lockeroom is having trainers who will work with you to achieve any goal you set. In the past year, I’ve gained so much strength and learned new skills -  I’ve done 150kg hip thrusts, learned to do a ring muscle-up and won the title of “Strongest Woman at Lockeroom 2023”. I have also learned a lot about nutrition and now I make sure I fuel my body with the right food. The only way I could have achieved all that is through consistency and the ongoing support from the training team.”
